Welcome to Lutheran Westland, Mr. Braun!

Mr. Doug Braun will join the Lutheran Westland staff in the fall to teach religion and social studies. Mr. Braun is not the only teacher in his family. He said, "I became a teacher because my dad and all his friends were teachers, and growing up I got to see the impact they all had on the lives of kids."

Mr. Braun majored in history and minored in PE and math in at Concordia University Chicago. He earned a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University and a master's of religion from Concordia University Chicago.

Mr. Braun taught at Racine Lutheran High School in Wisconsin, North Lutheran High School in Broomfield, Colorado, and Faith Lutheran High School in Las Vegas. He has been in Las Vegas for the past 14 years teaching all four levels of religion and assisting with volleyball and tennis.

Mr. Braun has been married to his wife Erin for sixteen years. They have two daughters, Abby age 11 and Chloe age 9, and two cats.

For fun Mr. Braun likes to read, spend time with his daughters, and watch all sports related to Wisconsin, especially the Packers, Brewers, and the University of Wisconsin. He also likes to participate in theater.

Mr. Braun looks forward to being able to share his faith in Jesus Christ with the students of Lutheran Westland, and Lutheran Westland is excited to have Mr. Braun as a part of our community.
