CALLING ALL WARRIORS!

Join us for our first Community Craft Night of the school year, led by Mrs. Alli Unger!

Community Craft Nights are an opportunity for adults in the Lutheran Westland community to come together in fellowship and be creative. The cost is only $25 (+ fees) and all proceeds from this event will benefit our All-School Service Day in April. This session’s project will be a watercolor wreath centered around a Bible verse. No experience needed—participants of all skill levels are welcome! All supplies will be provided, along with light snacks. You’ll be guided step-by-step as you create your own unique masterpiece.

 Spots are limited to 20 participants, so be sure to register early! The deadline to register is Friday, September 19th.

Parents will visit each of their student's classes to meet with the teacher, learn about the class, and have an opportunity to ask questions. Opening Devotion will begin at 6:30pm!

Attention Incoming Warriors!

Parents and new incoming students (freshmen & transfers) will meet on Thursday, August 14th at 7:00 PM in the main gym. This meeting will help you prepare for the start of school and finish any outstanding items. You will also be given your schedule and have an opportunity to walk through your student’s daily schedule. That includes practicing the locker combination a few times! 😉 Teachers will be there to meet with both parents & students.

Registered students and their parents will be able to learn more about the extracurricular options Lutheran Westland has to offer. Coaches will be handing out summer schedules with weight room hours, open gyms, and camp dates. Drama and music groups will also be sharing information. Join us!

Be sure to join us for a night full of brilliant performances on Thursday, May 15th at 6:30pm. This evening will feature appearances from the Lutheran Westland Band and Choir, as well as the Praise Band. We hope to see you there!

PREPARE FOR YOUR NEXT STEP!

Join us for our first Coaches vs. Cancer event on Tuesday, February 18th! 

Wear pink or purple and support our basketball programs! In the west gym, the girls Varsity team will play at 5:30pm followed by the boys Varsity team at 7:00pm. Meanwhile in the east gym, the boys JV team will play at 5:30pm before the girls JV team gets their game started at 7:00pm.

 To support this great cause, donate $5 to add a heart to our heart wall with the name of a loved one who is fighting or has lost their life to cancer.  We will honor these individuals by hanging the hearts in the gym during the contest.  They can be purchased ahead of time in the office or during the event.

 Additionally, students are encouraged to attend wearing pink or purple.  By signing in at the admissions table, they will have the opportunity to wear pink or purple tops for the remainder of the week! Finally, participate in our half-court shot competition!

What is Coaches vs. Cancer?

For more than over 30 years, the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches have collaborated to unite basketball coaches and fans through the Coaches vs. Cancer program to defeat a common enemy – cancer. Because of their passion and dedicated support, the impact they’ve made has been felt in communities nationwide.  All funds raised through this program will benefit the American Cancer Society’s screening initiatives that encourages people to schedule regular cancer screening tests. Regular screening for cancer can help save lives. Screening increases the chance of finding certain cancers early when they might be easier to treat. And, some screening tests can prevent cancer by detecting and treating pre-cancers or cell changes before they have a chance to become cancer.

CALLING ALL INCOMING FRESHMAN!

Join us at 3:30pm on February 4th, 5th, or 10th for our Math Placement Test! This test is used to ensure students are placed into the math class their freshman year that will best set them up for success during their four years at LW.  Be sure to bring two pencils, a calculator, scrap paper, water, and a snack. Save your spot & register below.

Welcome Future Warriors!

Future Warrior Day is a great opportunity for 7th & 8th graders to learn more about Lutheran Westland and all the exciting things we have to offer! Students will be led through a number of different stations throughout the school that will give them a better understanding why Lutheran Westland is one of the best high schools in the area! Lunch will be provided for all students!

Come and join us to learn more about our Art Program with our Art teacher, Mrs. Backus, along with our Industrial Arts program with our Industrial Arts teacher, Mr. Ruth!

3rd-8th graders are invited to join Mrs. Backus in creating an art project and have fun, while 7th and 8th graders are invited to join Mr. Ruth in making and assembling a wood project to take home!  Spots are limited for the Industrial Arts portion, so register today!
